The Lord started dealing with His servant, Dr. Friday Bekee about the ministry while he was still lecturing in Port Harcourt. After series of dealings from the Lord and a protracted season of prayers, in June 1993, the Lord said to him, “Go to Ikeja and pioneer the work” This was a bit curious because as at then he did not know anywhere or anybody in Ikeja. As he pondered about the possibility of this instruction, with his job and family in Port Harcourt, he decided to step out in obedience and faith.
As he decided to just go and know Ikeja, he met an old friend, Pastor Femi Agiri, who told him he was living in Ogba, a suburb of Ikeja. Pastor Femi graciously welcomed him into his home.
As he sought the Lord in Pastor Femi’s house, not knowing what next to do or where to go, God instructed him to get a venue and start teaching to stir up a revival in the heart of His people. By the grace of God, on Saturday, November 28, 1993, the first formal prayer meeting was held at the Hilton Hotel, off Allen Avenue, Ikeja at its inception was to stir up revival in the heart of believers and the churches, both in Nigeria and beyond. This was accomplished through prayer seminars and conferences.
